Ocean Poems

Overboard

Cast adrift,
the tumultuous storm threatened.
I had to dive deep
in to my soul
for a reason,
redemption,
any chance of rescue.

Burns from the Sun’s naked glare
took months to heal,
while you were unaware
the ship you sailed on
was licked by flames of ignorance
behind you.

The Ocean Between Us

I dipped my hand
in to the waves
on the shore
of the Ocean between us.

Salt cleansed the wound
from fingers
that once caressed your face
Left scars there.
